The Australian Research Container Orchestration Services (ARCOS) is establishing national collaborative Kubernetes Core Services to support the use of containers and container orchestration in the research sector. The initiative is working with the research community to implement the service with the following objectives:

-To engage and work with Australian research infrastructure providers, developers and researchers to collate and co-ordinate in their use of Kubernetes and containers

-Share information on how Kubernetes is being used internationally as an input into ARCOS

-Coordinate efforts and foster collaboration across research communities

-Bring together service providers from the academic and research community to establish and exchange current practices on the application of Kubernetes within the Australian research

sector

-Make recommendations on national services and community activities

-As a community, implement national Kubernetes Services for researchers.

During this BoF we will provide an update of  the current progress of ARCOS and hear from a number of community groups who will present on their learnings and current practices and encourage the community to share their experiences and learnings as well.
