SUMMARY:Growing ORCIDs
DESCRIPTION:Linda O’Brien1\n1ORCID\nORCID, a critical component of our global open research infrastructure, is in the process of refreshing its strategic plan using valuable insights from its members and users. Earlier this year we conducted a member value research project and user surveys, gathering over 40,000 responses, and conducted followup interviews. The insights from this work have proved invaluable in shaping the development of our strategy.\nAt our last Board meeting, after consideration of these insights at an earlier Board meeting, we refined the key strategic themes for our 2022-25 strategic plan.\nThis presentation will outline where we are at, what we have learnt and how we plan to drive value for our members and users into the future.\n\nBiography:\nBoard Chair of ORCID, Deputy Board Chair and Chair of the Strategy Committee for Infoxchange and independent Board Director of QCIF and Chair of QCIF’s Services and Infrastructure Committee. My passion is to unlock the power of data and digital technologies to drive public value – whether it’s to ensure research can be readily translated into practise in order to improve the world in which we live, to empower citizens to better manage their lives or to improve public policy.
