To investigate current and future transport options, researchers need a broad range of cross-jurisdictional data that are often complex, heterogenous and difficult to access. They also require a suite of analysis and modelling tools that may be bespoke or commercial, hard to acquire, setup, interoperate with and maintain. The Australian Transport Research Cloud (ATRC) brings together cutting-edge capabilities from the Australian Urban Research Infrastructure Network (AURIN) and internationally leading Australian transport research modelling groups to address these issues by delivering a ground breaking and transformative transport research simulation modelling platform (data, storage, compute and tools). Following user-centred design processes, the ATRC platform is harnessing advanced cloud computing technologies to provide researchers with the vertical and horizontal scalable transport models required to address today’s transport planning problems; from processing real-time data to performing intensive, granular multiagent simulations at scale. This presentation will provide an overview of the ATRC project and the developments that are underway to deliver an innovative and sustainable platform to support researchers as well as policy and decision makers into the future. This collaborative research infrastructure project is funded by the ARDC Platforms Program 2019 and is planned to be production ready by June 2023.\n\nBiography:\nBio to come\nDr Michael Rigby\nhttps://orcid.org/0000-0002-1460-6447\n
