Emma Arrigo is a solutions architect at Amazon Web Services (AWS) working with higher education customers. Additionally she is a part of the Research Program at AWS, who have a mission to create cloud ready researchers.

Abstract:

As the research landscape evolves, the ability to effectively leverage cloud computing has become increasingly crucial for researchers. Over the past year, our AWS Research team has conducted over 30 training sessions aimed at equipping researchers with the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in the cloud-based research environment.

In this session, we will share the key insights and best practices gleaned from these extensive training experiences we have run across the country.

The session will cover topics such as how to structure training programs, topic selection, hands-on workshop formats and how best to tailor for researchers. Participants will also gain insights into fostering a cloud-ready mindset within their research teams and effectively communicating the value of cloud-based research to stakeholders.
