NCI has made a significant investment in the skills training area over the last 18 months as part of the implementation of our five-year business plan. NCI undertook a comprehensive set of stakeholders consultations and user surveys to ascertain one, users’ needs and expectations in the area of training; and two, the content and availability of existing training courses that are offered within the community.
To address the overwhelming need, we formulated a partnership with Intersect to offer a series of introductory level courses. The development of the content is well on track in terms of when the HPC, data science, cloud computing and AI/ML applications on Gadi curriculum will be defined and launched. NCI’s training team has maintained a steady pace within a properly planned DevOps framework. We offer a variety of training courses and workshops on a regular basis. NCI also has a long standing relationship with our vendors who co-host some of our training events by offering their expertise to address skills and knowledge as a complementary component. The successful delivery of our training program heavily relies on digital marketing, including newsletters, NCI website, social media promotion, which plays a key role for user engagement and public relationship management.
Training sessions facilitated over 8000 hours of learning with a total number of 4000 trainees over the last 18 months since NCI’s new training team was formed. We are proud of this achievement and appreciate the endorsement and support of NCI’s board and executive team.
