Abstract:

As a participant in the Institutional Underpinnings (IU) program funded by the Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC), the University of Western Australia (UWA) embarked on a project to develop a new, integrated Research Data Management Planning (RDMP) tool. This initiative not only aimed to address the immediate limitations of its existing static RDMP tool, but also served as a pivotal component in a broader initiative to enhance the University's infrastructure for improved data storage and management.

The project involved extensive consultation with researchers and stakeholders, employing workshops and case studies to identify requirements. Following a rigorous tender process, UWA selected Research Data Box (ReDBox) as its new integrated RDMP tool (UWA Research Data Hub) which has been customised and recently implemented in May 2024.

This presentation will outline the UWA Research Data Hub’s customisation and deployment earlier this year. We will explore the outcomes that have been achieved, along with the future enhancements that have been identified during the implementation of this version.

We will also share the uptake of the Research Data Hub and any challenges faced.
