Abstract:

Following the release of our preliminary work on "The X-Readiness Levels Framework," we invite all community members to join us at this Birds-of-a-Feather session to provide input and feedback. Our framework aims to include all essential elements of research commercialisation and present them in a useful way. We hope it will help guide the structure of research programs that aim to transform fundamental research into practical, usable, and sustainable tools. This session will briefly present the authorship team's preliminary efforts and demonstrate how the framework can be used to assess research outputs or design funding programs. This will be followed by facilitated round table discussions to identify areas for improvement. Participants will have the opportunity to share their experiences in research commercialisation, both positive and negative. We will also conduct a visioning exercise where participants propose an ideal process for commercialisation. Additionally, the session aims to strengthen the Australasian network for those interested in research commercialisation and provide a forum for general discussion.
