Abstract
Background:
The 3AI Platform, developed by Intersect Australia, provides individual research groups, universities, organisations, and government bodies access to a team of highly skilled experts in data science, artificial intelligence (AI), analytics, and digital research technologies. Focussing on addressing the shortage of AI expertise within research organisations, the 3AI Platform aims to empower the Australian research community by offering research support in emerging AI and analytical methods.
Actions:
Intersect has established a stable, scalable, and sustainable platform that reduces barriers to AI transformation. The 3AI Platform is a team of research-oriented experts applying AI and advanced analytics in various research areas by embracing state-of-the-art AI and data science libraries combined with large-scale infrastructure. The 3AI platform is discipline and infrastructure-agnostic, allowing AI and analytics methods to be applied across various research areas and disciplines.
Results:
The 3AI Platform will provide researchers with rapid access to a team of experts and AI-enabled infrastructure, reducing research domain costs, fostering collaboration, and increasing research productivity.
Conclusion:
The platform’s interdisciplinary approach will contribute to addressing complex research challenges outlined in the National Research Infrastructure Roadmap, and other national priorities. The platform aims to accelerate research by providing hands-on support, helping develop scalable AI-enabled infrastructure, and training researchers, thereby strengthening the technical expertise pool and advancing research outcomes. This presentation will delve into the platform’s operations and demonstrate how it already helps individual research groups, universities and government departments to accelerate their research using advanced analytics and AI methods.
