Skills initiatives: Stories from the field
In this session, presenters will showcase and share skills and training activities and initiatives undertaken at local and national levels, which hold relevance and interest to the wider digital research skills space.

Dr Paula Andrea Martinez is currently the Software Project Coordinator at ARDC. Her work supports the new ARDC Software Program for Australia leading to better research software recognition. She is a former ARDC consultant whose work focused on development of National Training Materials in various selected topics. She is also an advocate of Open Science, better research, diversity and community projects like the FAIR4RS, The Carpentries, ROpenSci and R-Ladies. She is also working with the Research Software Alliance as part time Community Manager.
Dr Sara King is the Training and Engagement Lead for AARNet. She is focused on outreach within the research sector, developing communities of interest around training, outreach and skills development in eResearch. She is passionate about helping others develop the infrastructure and digital literacies required for working in a data-driven world, translating technology so it is accessible to everyone.
Dr Siddeswara Guru is the program lead for the Terrestrial Ecosystem Research Network (TERN) Data Services and Analytics Platform. He initiates, coordinates and manages data e-infrastructure and analytics projects apart from overseeing the data and information management activities across TERN.
