Lauren has been with ACOLA since 2016 and is responsible for ACOLA’s research and policy programs. She helps support the organisation in delivering its strategic objectives, including identifying ways to better harness the perspectives of all disciplines to address complex issues facing society.
She has an extensive history of working for non-government organisations in the public policy sector, most recently in directing interdisciplinary policy projects and contributing interdisciplinary perspectives to public debate on emerging national and regional issues. She has a PhD in Chemistry and has presented and produced several publications on science, technology and innovation policy. During her time at ACOLA, Lauren has overseen and managed the production of large and small interdisciplinary projects and activities from the exploration of the effective and ethical development of artificial intelligence, the future of agricultural technologies, enhancing disability responsiveness of professionals, to stimulating the science and research ecosystem to create jobs and investment. Most recently, Lauren was involved in Australia’s Data-Enabled Research Future – a project resulting from the partnership between the ARDC and Australia’s five Learned Academies and ACOLA to ensure Australia can undertake excellent data-enabled research across all fields of research. |
