Publishers and funders are increasingly looking at data being deposited in certified Trusted Data Repositories. This came, for example, out of the European Commission Expert Group on FAIR data (Recommendation 9, 20) and publisher and community signing of the AGU Enabling FAIR data commitment statement. The Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) brought together a community of practice representing data service providers. By sharing experiences, dedicated writing sessions and documents through the community of practice, effort will be reduced for all involved to gain CoreTrustSeal certification.
This 60 Minute BoF will be facilitated by ARDC and lead community members (such as IMOS, Geoscience Australia, AuScope, AIMS and TERN ), to do the following:
(1) strengthen the community relationships through face to face interaction;
(2) discuss different approaches and methods to address CoreTrustSeal requirements;
(3) share current work, successes and challenges facing us individually and communally, and
(4) allow the community to share lessons learned from CoreTrustSeal certification challenges and issues.
This BoF will provide an opportunity to bring the community together to share learnings with other organisations who are interested in CoreTrustSeal certification and for them to hear about and meet the community, widening the potential benefits and interest in the existing community. As such, the BoF will feature a small number of guest speakers representing the broad perspective of community activity to date. Each guest speaker will briefly (3-5 min) share with delegates what progress they have made to date with learning, costing and undertaking trusted data certification.
