Abstract

AARNet, who is owned by the Australian Universities and the CSIRO, has been providing Network to the sector for over 30yrs. AARNet’s strengths are built on network connectivity, data and collaboration and cyber-security. Specifically within digital research field, AARNet has historically developed and operated solutions to support individual researchers to collaborate with data and connect via Network and Video Conferencing (Zoom).

Now in 2023, with many well established research communities supporting disciplines, AARNet is changing its approach and will be engaging with the sector by working with these established communities and provisioning “fit-for-purpose” operational infrastructure to support their delivery and ensuring communities can get data to where they need it. This approach will leverage AARNet’s strengths – deep knowledge of the sector, the Network, infrastructure and operational rigour. AARNet is keen to develop partnerships to support research communities in delivering services through infrastructure and 24/7 operational support.

In this presentation, we will give an overview of AARNet for those new to the sector as well as outlining our 2023-2028 digital research strategy
