Abstract

It almost seems a daily occurrence – another large-scale organisation is reporting a critical data breach. However, data breaches are being reported across all organisations, within the private sector, and public institutions continue to have their own internal discussions about gaps in policies, procedures and training.

Training materials to support the development of staff and students who work with data (especially sensitive data) continue to be a priority at varying levels. There has also been an increase in externally and internally funded projects that support the safe management of sensitive data. Training is becoming important to ensure the safe on-boarding of users as well as support the strategic priorities for the communities in which they operate.

This session will bring together a panel who have or continue to work on a platform that has training as a project output. The panel will explore the following:

* Why developing training was important for the panel member’s platform?

* What was the process and what did collaboration look like?

* What were the challenges and will continue to be in the future?

* Recommendations for others who want to develop their own training

* Future proofing and developments
