Biography:

Sonia Ramza is the User Support Manager for the ARDC Nectar Cloud.

Abstract:

This workshop aims to connect researchers, cloud operators, and support staff to share practical experiences and future roadmaps for the ARDC Nectar Research Cloud. The goal is to foster a collaborative community where users learn from real-world applications and operators gather direct feedback to shape future cloud services.

The scope includes peer-led demonstrations of how diverse fields leverage Nectar, technical updates on upcoming capabilities and interactive exchanges between end-users and Cloud operators.

As digital research becomes increasingly data-intensive, researchers face computational bottlenecks that require scalable, accessible computing power. However, navigating and optimising national cloud infrastructure can be challenging in isolation. Simultaneously, infrastructure providers need to ensure their technical roadmaps stay tightly aligned with the evolving computational demands of the research community, especially in the age of rapidly evolving AI technologies.

Attendees will leave equipped with insights on how to use and scale their research computing, stronger user networks, and a direct channel to influence the future service offerings of the Nectar Cloud.
