Abstract:
The Researcher and HDR Lifecycle Resource is a University of Canberra initiative designed to enhance researcher capability and streamline access to institutional support throughout their research journey. This interactive, Canvas-based platform provides a structured lifecycle, covering key stages from onboarding and project planning through to conducting research, publishing, and archiving/offboarding.
By consolidating services, systems, tools, and training opportunities from multiple university stakeholders including eResearch, Research Services, Library and Learner Experience, Graduate Research Office, and IT & Cyber Security, the resource offers a centralised, user-friendly entry point for researchers and HDR students. It enables users to identify relevant support, understand when it is needed, and connect with the appropriate contacts at each stage of their project.
The lifecycle distinguishes between mandatory processes and recommended resources, supporting both compliance and capability development without functioning as a formal course. Designed as an evolving platform, it incorporates user feedback to continuously improve usability and relevance.
This initiative demonstrates a collaborative, institution-wide approach to improving researcher experience, strengthening service visibility, and fostering a more connected, efficient, and supportive research ecosystem.
